I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
